I am a mental health researcher with a background in psychosis research spanning psychiatric neuroimaging, qualitative methods, and syndemics. I am currently a Wellcome Trust Accelerator Award Fellow, leading the HAVA study, which investigates how long-term exposure to air pollution affects brain chemistry using advanced neuroimaging approaches.
I am a co-investigator on the SHARE project, which explores service-user perspectives on data sharing in mental health research, and I supervise students across mental health and interdisciplinary research areas. Over time, my work has increasingly focused on the intersections between climate, environment, and mental health- particularly air pollution, green spaces, and sustainability.
Alongside my research, I lead the IGUANA Initiative, which promotes low-carbon academic travel and explores the cultural, organisational, and wellbeing impacts of sustainable travel practices. My methodological expertise includes neuroimaging analysis, qualitative research, and systematic reviews, and I am keen to build interdisciplinary collaborations that bridge mental health research, environmental science, and policy.
