About my experience and expertise

Personal statement:

I am a researcher at the University of Bath – the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST). I also work at the University’s Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change and I co-lead the Accelerating Social Change theme at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

I conduct interdisciplinary, applied research on perceptions and behaviour in relation to climate change. I work with a wide range of partners to measure engagement in climate actions and to design interventions to encourage low-carbon behaviours.

Key topic areas of research or interest:
My three main areas of research are:
1) Local authority climate policy – I collaborate with local councils and voluntary sector organisations to co-develop and evaluate behaviour change pilots around travel and diet.
2) Sustainability in sport – I work with sports organisations and professional & grass roots clubs to understand how they can reduce their carbon footprint, adapt to climate impacts, and motivate fans to adopt low-carbon behaviours.
3) Community climate action – I support community climate hubs to develop and evaluate their peer learning model for engaging the public on climate change.
