The Association of Commonwealth UniversitiesAbout my experience and expertise
Personal statement:
I am a UK-based environmental social scientist working on climate adaptation, urban and climate resilience, and research systems, with a focus on the Global South, particularly Africa. One of my current areas of work is collaborative, multi-partner co-creation research exploring how universities and research institutions can strengthen their capacity to produce impactful, locally grounded climate adaptation knowledge. I work across academia, policy, and civil society, focusing on climate governance, research capacity strengthening, institutional and urban resilience, nature-based solutions, and sustainability, with a particular interest in equity, justice, and how climate knowledge, action, and finance are produced and applied across contexts. My work uses qualitative and participatory methodologies including institutional analysis, co-production, participatory workshops, citizen science, and living lab approaches. I also lead Change Climate Futures, connecting Global Majority communities in the UK and internationally to research, policy, and action, and am expanding my work on climate–health intersections, alongside developing approaches in dynamic evaluation.
Collaboration opportunities:
I am interested in genuine collaboration grounded in camaraderie and allyship, connecting academia, policy, and communities across the UK, Africa, and the Global South. I welcome opportunities for co-created research and applied work, with a strong focus on intersectionality. I am particularly interested in collaborations that connect Global Majority communities in the UK with their countries of origin, linking knowledge, action, and impact across contexts. I am also expanding into climate–health intersections and welcome opportunities to contribute as a pracademic. Across all my work and interests, I welcome consultancy, advisory, commissioned research, speaking, and mentoring opportunities.
