About my experience and expertise



Personal statement:

Since graduating from the University of York, I have gained over 30 years’ experience of working in the environmental communication field. My first book, Media, Culture and the Environment, was published in 1997 – one of the first UK studies to analyse UK media coverage of environmental issues and NGO media strategies.

My specialisms include environmental education (secondary level) and news production and climate change. I work closely with stakeholders, conduct interdisciplinary research, and have contributed to a number of government inquiries. I use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods including surveys, content and discourse analysis, interviews
