About my experience and expertise

Personal statement:

I am a geographer and environmental social scientists with a longstanding interest in integrated and co-produced approaches to sustainability and environmental management who has operated at the interface of environmental research, policy and practice for the past 20 years. Over this period, I have worked within academia, central government, local government, as well as the not-for-profit and consultancy sectors.

I am an agile generalist with a broad range of research, knowledge exchange, and impact skills. I employ both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and have produced a diverse range of outputs for various academic, policy and practice audiences.

Key topic areas of research or interest:

My research and impact interests have focused on four broad overlapping areas:

  • Marine and Coastal Policy and Governance
  • Rural Practices and Policy
  • Sustainable Food Systems
  • Social Science – Environmental Policy Interface

In my current role with ACCESS, my work is primarily focused on the ‘Agile and Responsive Social Science’ work steam, and on the Guiding Principles, with a particular interest in knowledge co-production.
