Personal statement:
I am a Senior Lecturer in Politics at Aston University (UK). My research mainly explores how inequalities and identities affect social attitudes and behavioural change, and how geopolitical factors (especially in the context of China) affect the development and uptake of sustainable new technologies.
Using mixed methods, I pay particular attention to socioeconomic deprivation in the context of decarbonisation and pollution reduction strategies, and how technological advancements in these areas need to be considered with wider sociopolitical implications.
Key topic areas of research or interest:
- Inequality
- Social acceptance
- Sustainable development
- Geopolitical considerations of new tech (especially w/ China)
- Technological sovereignty
