I am a Research and Project Assistant with Nifty Sustainability CIC. I support and lead on a wide range of projects from mapping the Third Sector in Leeds, to exploring public perceptions of carbon capture and storage and hydrogen technologies in Aberdeenshire. I aim throughout all my work to capture the real-world experiences of people, with a particular focus on highlighting the voices of those with lived experiences of inequalities, injustices, and exclusion at a systemic level. I do this through creative, participatory, accessible, and co-produced research methods and outputs.
As an activist, my main passion lies in amplifying a diverse range of voices, who are often excluded from climate change and social justice conversations. I have spent several years helping IMAS to explore and evidence the positive impacts they have on tackling health inequalities within learning disabled communities, and tracking the experiential learning opportunities they provide for health and care professionals. I have also supported Mind the Gap, a learning disabled performing arts company, through their recent project ‘Leave the Light on for Me’ which explored themes of climate change and justice, with a focus on promoting eco-hope.
