Lewis is an Environmental Social Scientist who co-runs Lestari, a research-led consultancy based in the South-West of England. He specialises in outdoor experiential education and behaviour change. He is an engaged research facilitator at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health, and is a research fellow at the University of Exeter.

Lewis became an ACCESS Leadership Fellow in April 2023 in recognition of the impact his work and research are having in shaping outdoor education, and his campaign work for Right to Roam.
