
The National Survey for Wales is an annual survey conducted by the Welsh Government to gather information about the opinions, behaviors, and experiences of people living in Wales. Topics that might be of interest to users of the Data Exchange include: active travel, biodiversity, climate change, diet, flood risk, food poverty, outdoor recreation, pollution and litter, recycling and re-use, and wellbeing.
Accessing the data
The National Survey for Wales results viewer is available to download here. This XLSB file is an interactive Excel file where you can explore the data collected between 2012-2023.

You can filter for relevant datasets using the boxes on the left or use the search tool, located below the ‘Broad topics’ box. The ‘Local area, community and environment’ topic may be of particular interest to users of the Data Exchange. Click on the green dots to view results. On the results page, you can toggle between seeing the data as a chart or as a table, and compare to data collected in previous years.
