
The Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) is an open platform launched by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in 2014, designed to facilitate the sharing of data related to humanitarian emergencies and crises. HDX serves as a central repository where humanitarian organisations, governments, and other stakeholders can upload, access, and analyse data to better understand and respond to humanitarian needs.
Accessing the data
The Humanitarian Data Exchange offers a wide range of datasets, including population demographics, health statistics, geospatial information, and more, which can be easily searched, visualised, and downloaded. Click on the ‘Data‘ tab to explore the various datasets. Use the filters on the left hand side of the webpage to refine your search. You can also explore the data by country, as seen below.
