The Council Climate Action Scorecards score all UK councils on the actions they’ve taken towards reaching net zero carbon emissions. The scorecards are based on a range of questions across seven sections: Buildings & Heating, Transport, Planning & Land Use, Governance & Finance, Biodiversity, Collaboration & Engagement, Waste Reduction & Food.

Accessing the data

Data for each of the councils can be viewed for free on the Council Climate Action Scorecards website. You can use the ‘Advanced Filters’ tool to filter the councils based on Nation, Region, Urbanisation, Political Control, Index of Multiple Deprivation, and Total Population.

You can click on relevant councils to see how they scored on each question.
