The Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) is a research initiative based in the United Kingdom that focuses on the use of consumer data for academic and public policy research. The CDRC was established to provide researchers with access to large-scale and detailed consumer datasets on topics such consumer transactions, demographics, geographic location, and other relevant variables.
Accessing the data
Datasets can be accessed on the CDRC website. Datasets can be filtered using the options on the left bar.
You must register for an account to download data. Data is provided at three different level of access: Open, Safeguarded, and Secure. Open data can be downloaded by anyone registered on the CDRC website, while Safeguarded and Secure data requires registration, project approval requirements, training, and signing of a user agreement legal document.
To filter for ‘Open’ data, use the ‘Type’ filter on the left.
