The Environmental Information Data Centre (EIDC) is a data catalogue of terrestrial, freshwater and atmospheric environmental data. The EIDC is part of the Natural Environment Research Council’s (NERC) Environmental Data Service and is hosted by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH).

Accessing the data

Datasets can be downloaded from the ‘Find data’ tab on the EIDC website. You can filter data by topic or search using the search bar. Much of the data is physical science, but there are also social science datasets available (e.g. public perceptions of tidal energy, perception of environmental risks, survey data on wellbeing and nature connectedness). Click on the dataset you are interested in. On the right hand side of the dataset page, you will see ‘Get the data.’ Here, you can find a button to download the dataset.
