About my experience and expertise



Personal statement:

I am an environmental psychologist, specialising in perceptions and behaviour in relation to climate change, energy and transport, based in the Department of Psychology, University of Bath. I am Director of the ESRC-funded UK Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST). I regularly advise governmental and other organisations on low-carbon behaviour change and climate change communication, was one of the expert leads for Climate Assembly UK, and Lead Author for IPCC’s Working Group II Sixth Assessment Report. I use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g. surveys, interviews, experiments, deliberative focus groups).

 



Key topic areas of research or interest:

My research projects have included studies of travel behaviours, food choice, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water consumption; and climate change perceptions and communication.
